MX Records and Nameservers

I am looking for some general clarification regarding MX Records and Nameservers.

I currently have 3 entities in the mix.

GoDaddy that hosts the domain name (and presently hosted exchange).

Wix.com which hosts the webpage

Outlook 365 that will soon host a migrated mailbox from GoDaddy.

The Namerservers at Godaddy pointed to Wix.com nameserver (NS1.wix.com etc) originall. On Wix.com, the MX Record pointed back to Godaddy for the mail.

While signing up for O365, the setup has me enter the IP address of the domain website hosted at wix.com.  O365 then had me change the Nameservers to point to O365.

The question is now - what actually needs to have the MX Records updated?  GoDaddy that hosts the domain name or the website?  The second question is how do I know what O365 MX Record is?  I haven't seen that any where but I see where the record can be added at my hosted domain (wix.com) but not GoDaddy. Since the website is not hosted there, I suppose there is no MX Record to set?

What if I didn't host the webpage outside of O365, where would I set the MX Record then?

Thanks in advance!

Benjamin
