Hi Marcin_S,
I’m sorry
to tell you that at present, admins cannot “set” passwords for other users. Actually,
as I have mentioned before, when creating a user, system will give him a temporary
password. After the new user receives this temporary password, he can use
it to log into Office 365. And in the next login, system will ask him to change the password to a new one. In a word, admins can only help users
reset their passwords to temporary ones, and users still need to set passwords
by themselves.
I have
done some tests about bulk adding users on my account. There are six steps in the multiple user adding. In the last step results, we can find all the newly created users
and their corresponding temporary passwords.
Also in the
fifth step send results, we can input some email addresses. Then system will send all the results to the email
accounts.
If you would like to have all the users get a fixed temporary password, you can refer to the Set-MsolUserPassword command. Using this command, admins can directly create a password for a user. But this password is still a temporary one, and user needs to change the password on next signin.
Regarding the
other requirement adding custom attribute, based on my tests, it will not
be accepted by Office 365. Although we can create or modify columns in the CSV
file, the file cannot be verified. An error message Your file could not be verified will pop up.
Therefore,
we may suggest you download a blank CSV file or a sample CSV file from the
portal. This sample file has been well designed with all the correct
attributes, and we just need to input the user information into it.
Honestly
speaking, we can understand why you would like to set user passwords or create
new attribute. These features should be very useful for organization’s daily
operation. We’re sorry that in the time being Office 365 cannot realize them when creating multiple users. But we
will forward your requirements to the related team, and try including the features into
Office 365. If it’s convenient, we also invite you to submit feedback about
your comments directly here: http://g.microsoftonline.com/0O365COM11EN/135.
Our product team will collect all your valuable feedback, and based on them,
try making the product more user-friendly.
Thanks for
all your time and patience.
Sincerely,
Ella
